INDIAN RIVER LAGOON WATERFRONT COTTAGESWEEK OF FEBRUARY 9,2015 Well this week brought wind and cooler temps, cooler for us anyway… but the fish were still around and if you could get out of the wind a nice day fishing. Some of the gang went out on a pontoon boat trip and a good time was had by all. We hear there is a group going on a bus ride to the Miami Boat Show Saturday and we are sure that will be a nice day. This past weekend we had a large gathering stay with us for a local wedding and we were told a good time was had by all and hope to see them again. The fishing this week has been steady, a mix of Jacks, pompano, snapper and redfish along the grass and mangroves with spanish, snook and blues at the inlet on the incoming tide. Offshore kings, triggerfish and grouper have been the best bets. We also had a family of manatee's come by the dock with their calf along side and visited us for a while, nice to see.

This week we had some gentlemen from down south staying with us and they had a great week of fishing and their bag included Redfish, Drum, Snapper and Jacks fishing live shrimp on floats, Flounder and some nice pompano on the bottom with live shrimp all just as the tide was going out. This weekend ( Nov 8 ) the Jensen Beach Pineapple festival is going on with lots of fun and music for all fri, sat, sun. The Navy Seal Museum is holding its annual Memorial all weekend with food, fun and Seals. Of course the Ft Pierce Farmers market will be in full swing Saturday till noon with food, music and crafts. And Sunday after lunch there will be live Blues downtown on the waterfront, Its great to be on the Treasure Coast.

The winds have been kind as of late and the offshore fishing has been very good.Reports:Inshore - Trout are being caught under the cork with shrimp by Kings Isle and north of Harbor Branch on outgoing tides. INDIAN RIVER LAGOON WATERFRONT COTTAGESWeek of February 20, 2015 The week started off nice if you like to fly kites, those die hard's had to find a little shelter from the winds, but once there so were the fish. Drum, shephead, reds and trout were to be found on the incoming tide. In the turning basin it was blues, Spanish mac's and snook on the outgoing tide. The weather is a lot better than it is up north but not beach weather, but back to 75 on Saturday , 79 Sunday and 80 on Monday. It is a great weekend to be on the water, trout, redfish, amberjack and dolphin so far. And remember tomorrow is Memorial Day, at 10:00 am at the Navy Seal Museum there is going to be a memorial service, remember our Vets.
